Deployment of Pralay ballistic missiles on China-Pakistan border : Anxiety in the enemy camp
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Indian Govt has cleared the procurement of around 120 Pralay ballistic missiles for the Indian armed forces, reports said on Sunday.
The decision by the Defence Ministry to procure indigenous short-range ballistic surface-to-surface (SRBM) missile Pralay, a conventional weapon that has become ready for induction in just seven years, gives Indian military the heft to its war-fighting capabilities.
The ballistic missiles will be deployed by the Indian armed forces along the borders with China and Pakistan. These are surface-to-surface short-range ballistic missiles (SRBM) developed for battlefield use.
The missile will be India’s first tactical quasi-ballistic missile and will give the armed forces the capability to hit enemy positions and key installations in actual battlefield areas.
Currently, the Pralay ballistic missiles can take out targets from 150 to 500 kms. It is extremely difficult for the enemy to intercept through interceptor missiles.
Now since, the Indian Govt. permits the use of ballistic missiles in tactical roles, therefore the acquisition of these ballistic missiles is considered a significant development for the nation.
